The distinctive and beautiful new columns and pilasters are mahogany versions of the exterior painted columns at the main entry [inset] from when the house was originally built.

Since cabinetry took up much of the wall space, a new ridge skylight was added to let in the sunshine.

Primary Bedroom

Though the orientation of the bed focuses on the spectacular view of Lake Washington, Mozzie is unimpressed.

The use of both pedestal sinks and small intermediate cabinets was a way to maximize style and storage.

The original house did not have a primary bathroom so we transformed the smallest bedroom into one. While compact, it is an elegant space.

New Skylight in Upper Hall

At the top of the stairs, a large skylight was added complete with a stained glass screen so one cannot look up into the large skylight well. Lights were installed so the feature becomes on large light fixture at night.

This is the view looking directly up at the screen. The Prairie style of the existing house (found in the windows and detailing) was used to inform this new element.

Mount Baker Remodel
